Even if you manually assign a Database Date, it has no effect on the order from a Sort on Date Taken.įor my tests I imported a series of images where the Date/Time Original sequence was in a completely different order to the Filename sequence. If the Exif metadata is missing, then the ACDSee Database Date will show as unassigned (Click to assign a date)'. However, its well worth considering for the image management and Raw processing functionality alone. In normal circumstances the ACDSee metadata 'Database Date' would be the same as the Exif 'Date/Time Original' date, but may not be if the Exif Date/Time Original has been manually entered or altered after the image has been added to the database. ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2020 is fantastic at image cataloguing and Raw processing but falls down with image editing despite offering layers, filters, masking and adjustment layers. If the Exit Date/Time Original is missing or invalid in some of the images, then for those images the order appears to be on Filename.

It is not referenced to the File 'Created' date. The sort on 'Date Taken' is working exactly as it should here in both ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2020 (which I'd be fairly sure is the same in terms of that function as the 2020 Home version), and also in ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2021, for view modes 'thumbnails', 'Film Strip' and 'Tiles'.ĪFAIK the sort on 'Date Taken' is referenced to the Exif metadata Date/Time Original field. I haven't been able to reproduce it here at all. Unfortunately (or fortunately) it's not so easily reproducible. There is an easily-reproducible sorting bug in ACDSee Photo Studio Home 2020, version 23.0 (Build 1377).
